Formal Launching
of BUETAA
BUETAA was formally launched on 28 July 2007 through
a function held in collaboration with BUET on the
occasion of celebrating 60 years of engineering
education in Bangladesh (1947 when Ahsanullah
Engineering College was first established to the
present). The launching ceremony was held at the
Central Seminar Room of BUET which was attended by
about 250 invited alumni, including the three of the
alumni from the first (1951) batch of graduates from
the Shsanullah Engineering College, the present Vice
Chancellor and several former Vice Chancellors and
faculty of BUET as well as distinguished alumni from
the other sectors. A highlight of the event was the
honoring of, and awarding of a plaque of honor to,
Professor Wahiduddin Ahmed, former Professor and
Vice Chancellor of BUET, for his outstanding
contribution to engineering education in the
country. At the end of the ceremony the participants
were entertained with dinner. |
